$683 billion in unpaid labor: How companies like Amazon, AARP, and Levi’s are easing the caregiving burden on women

Every morning starts the same way: A 6 a.m. alarm and an hour to prepare for the day before her kids get up. By 7 a.m., it’s time to get the kids ready for school and her turn to carpool to school. Then, a full day at the office. 

By 5 p.m., it’s time to pick up the kids from after-school childcare and to soccer practice and make time to run to the grocery store before it’s time to pick them up again. When they all finally get back home, it’s time for dinner, homework, and answering emails, before bath time.
