IndiGo posts Rs 1,879-crore loss as high fuel costs, geopolitical woes hit; capacity cuts & yield management offer only partial relief, says CEO Willie Walsh

IndiGo reported a net loss of Rs 1,879 crore in the September quarter as a sharp rise in jet fuel prices and foreign exchange costs offset strong revenue growth. While revenue increased 26% year-on-year to Rs 23,363.8 crore, fuel costs surged more than 67%. The airline plans to raise fares, rationalise flights and maintain its long-term expansion plans, including the introduction of Airbus A350 aircraft in 2028.
