Iran remains open to talks with US under Pakistan-brokered deal
Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan stated that Iran is willing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz if the US lifts its naval blockade. The June agreement, brokered by Pakistan and Qatar, aimed to ease tensions and restore shipping in the strait. Although Iran expressed readiness to negotiate, the US continues its blockade, complicating diplomatic efforts. The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, signed by several countries, is also under consideration by Tehran.
