Kolkata stampede: Chorbagan Durga Puja treasurer held over 'pandal collapsing' announcement

Sanjib Raha, the treasurer of Chorbagan Durga Puja, was arrested after a stampede claimed 19 lives. He allegedly misled attendees by announcing that the pandal was collapsing which caused panic. Police tracked him down in Nadia district after he had been hiding since the incident. Investigators also examined crowd management measures to understand contributing factors to the tragedy.
