India's aviation map is being redrawn, and smaller cities are stealing the show

India’s international aviation market is expanding beyond Delhi and Mumbai, with foreign airlines increasingly connecting smaller Indian cities directly to overseas hubs. The trend is creating a new contest for nearly 20 million connecting long-haul passengers, most of whom currently change planes at foreign hubs, while Air India is trying to bring more of that traffic through Indian airports.
