SC to hear Maharashtra SIR plea on Oct 26; refuses to issue notice

The Supreme Court in New Delhi has scheduled a hearing on October 26 for a plea related to electoral roll discrepancies. Senior advocate Arvind Datar claimed that about 12 million voters in Maharashtra have been flagged for inconsistencies. Additionally, 40.6% of voters in Pune and some areas were reportedly excluded from the rolls. The court emphasized that allegations must be examined on a state-by-state basis.
