Police constable Ranga Swamy undertook a hazardous recovery operation in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, entering the swift Tungabhadra river to retrieve an unidentified woman’s body. He carried the body on his shoulders across nearly a kilometre of rocky terrain to reach the riverbank after the dangerous conditions deterred others from attempting the recovery. Videos of his efforts later circulated on social media, drawing public praise.
