India calls for inclusion of terrorism under crimes against humanity framework at UN

India called for the recognition of terrorist acts within the framework of crimes against humanity at the UN. The country's representative emphasized the primary responsibility of states to prevent and prosecute such crimes. India seeks a convention that complements existing legal mechanisms and respects national jurisdictions. Enhanced counter-terrorism measures have also significantly improved internal security in India over the last 12 years.
