New FEMA can be fatale for e-shoppers

Effective from October 1, new rules by Fema are causing apprehension over individual digital service purchases. Banks will now need to report imports of goods and services to the RBI to improve trade data accuracy. However, there is concern that reporting for international credit card purchases may be delayed compared to machinery transactions. This leaves consumers unsure about their obligations to report digital subscriptions to banks.
