From 95% imports to Rs 6.27 lakh crore in smartphone output: Jyotiraditya Scindia on India's mobile manufacturing growth

India's mobile phone manufacturing sector has grown from two companies to 300 over the last 12 years. The country now produces smartphones valued at ₹6.27 lakh crore, a remarkable increase from ₹20,000 crore. Broadband users have surged from 60 million to over 1 billion in the same period. India has developed its own 4G technology that supports over 1 lakh towers.
