Brazil election 2026: Lula, Flavio Bolsonaro head to runoff as neither garners a majority of votes

Brazil's presidential election is heading to a runoff on October 25 after no candidate won in the first round. Flavio Bolsonaro is currently leading with 47.45 percent of the votes, while Lula secured 44.66 percent. Around 160 million registered voters participated in the election, which also included other political contests.
