ET EXPLAINER: How RBI’s new valuation rules change the way banks view REITs, InvITs

The Reserve Bank of India has amended the valuation framework for Real Estate Investment Trusts and Infrastructure Investment Trusts. These changes are meant to enhance consistency in how banks and All India Financial Institutions value these investments. For quoted units, existing regulatory frameworks apply, while unquoted units are valued based on disclosed net asset value.
