Assam’s Pu’er tea fetches Rs 12,000 per kg at Guwahati tea auction

Assam’s tea industry recorded a new speciality tea milestone as Pu’er Tea Cake from Gauripur Tea Industry sold for Rs 12,000 per kg at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre. The sale of 5 kg could pave the way for traditional Phalap tea to enter public auctions, while higher subsidies aim to boost speciality tea production.
