Singer Simanta Sekhar quits BJP, resigns as Assam film corporation chairman

Prominent singer Simanta Sekhar resigned from his ASFFDC chairman post. He also quit the BJP's state executive committee and primary membership. Sekhar cited personal reasons for his sudden departure from both positions. He thanked Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his support during his tenure. The singer had been appointed ASFFDC chairman in February 2022.
