Thailand trip with wife got cancelled due to illness, Rs 40,000 advance refund refused to stroke-striken husband; Court orders tour operator to pay Rs 57,000

A Kannur man booked a Thailand holiday for himself and his wife, but a stroke left him unfit to travel just weeks before departure. Despite handing over his medical certificate and passport copies as asked, the tour operator refused to refund his advance. The Kannur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has now ordered the company to pay him Rs 57,000 in total.
