Recruitment scam: Karnataka CM weighs closing public service commission

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar stated that the government is seeking legal advice on potentially shutting down the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) following widespread recruitment irregularities, including a "job-for-money" scam involving 400 veterinary officers. While welcoming the Karnataka High Court's decision to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DGP Alok Kumar to probe the scam, Shivakumar noted that state authorities should have had input on the team's formation.
