India needs to move beyond chip manufacturing, use Indian chips in products designed and made locally: Report

India’s next phase of semiconductor growth should focus beyond manufacturing capacity on building a domestic ecosystem where chips designed, produced and packaged in India are used in locally designed products, an EY-IESA report said. With semiconductor consumption projected at $200 billion by 2035, the report called for greater downstream value creation.
