Annamalai rejects Periyar's atheistic policies, anti-Brahmin ideologies

Former Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai said he rejects Periyar’s atheistic and anti-Brahmin ideologies while acknowledging the Dravidian stalwart’s contributions to women’s empowerment and caste eradication. Pointing to what he called “numerous contradictions” in Periyar’s history, Annamalai also reiterated that statues carrying atheistic inscriptions outside Hindu temples would be respectfully relocated if the BJP comes to power in Tamil Nadu.
