Himanta lays foundation for Adani Power's Rs 48,000-cr power plant in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone for Adani Power’s Rs 48,000-crore, 3,200 MW thermal power plant at Chapar in Dhubri, one of the largest single investments in the state. The project, comprising four 800 MW ultra-supercritical units, is expected to create up to 20,000 jobs during construction and around 5,000 once operational, while boosting Assam’s ambitions to emerge as a major energy hub in the Northeast.
