Violent protests rock Manipur's Kangpokpi over 'detention' of 6 villagers

Unrest gripped Kangpokpi district in Manipur after Kuki demonstrators took to the streets over the reported detention of six Kholen villagers by security personnel. Protesters set tyres ablaze, hurled stones at official vehicles, and excavated sections of National Highway-2 near Motbung. Tear gas was used to disperse crowds, leaving some injured. Calm returned once the villagers were freed, authorities said.
