Tamil Nadu to launch one-gram gold ring scheme for newborns on September 28, first batch of 1.28 lakh rings ready

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will launch a one-gram gold ring scheme for babies. This initiative will provide gold rings to all babies born in state-run hospitals. As many as 1.28 lakh gold rings have been procured for the first installment. Each gold ring will feature a unique serial number and tamper-proof packaging. Beneficiaries must be permanent residents of Tamil Nadu to be eligible for this scheme.
