Weather today, September 18: IMD forecasts widespread thunderstorms across north and northeast India

The IMD has forecast rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds across India from September 17-23, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in states including Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and parts of the Northeast. South Peninsular India, particularly Tamil Nadu, Kerala and coastal Andhra Pradesh, may see gusty winds reaching up to 60 kmph alongside sustained rainfall through the week, with strong surface winds also expected in some areas.
