Election Commission bars rival TMC factions from using party name, symbol in West Bengal Assembly bypolls
The Election Commission has barred both Trinamool Congress factions from using the party's name. They also cannot use the reserved election symbol in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly bypolls. This interim order comes ahead of the October 6 bypolls in Nandigram and Rejinagar. Both groups must now use a different party name and election symbol. They must submit three choices each for their preferred options by Friday morning.
