BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said India’s women’s team did not accept the Women’s Asia Cup trophy from ACC president Mohsin Naqvi in solidarity with the men’s team’s decision from last year. Head coach Amol Muzumdar backed the BCCI’s stand, while Saikia said India’s title triumph remained the priority after the team defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs to win a record eighth title.
