Freight loading last month grew by 5.4 per cent over Aug 2025: Railways

Indian Railways saw freight loading increase by 5.4 percent in August 2026. Key sectors like coal and iron ore contributed to this substantial freight movement. Passenger traffic also rose, carrying 67.27 crore passengers during the same month. Suburban passenger numbers experienced a strong 9.02 percent growth. Additionally, fourteen Amrit Bharat services were regularized, expanding connectivity.
