4 shot inside North Carolina home, 2 killed as police identify person of interest

A shooting inside a Gaston County, North Carolina, home left two people dead and two others critically injured Thursday morning after police responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire, authorities said.

The Gaston County Police Department said officers responded to the house just before 8:45 a.m. and found four victims inside with gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the home, while the remaining two were taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
