Calcutta HC allows Mamata Banerjee's public meeting in Sreerampur instead of procession
In a significant move, the Calcutta High Court sanctioned a public gathering for Mamata Banerjee in Hooghly, with a limit of 2,000 participants. Nevertheless, concerns over traffic led to the denial of a procession along GT Road. Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya mandated police to be present to maintain order, responding to a petition that contested the previous refusal for the procession.
