After decades behind bars, Erik and Lyle Menendez get an earlier shot at parole
Erik and Lyle Menendez will appear before a parole board next March. Their parole eligibility was advanced by approximately seventeen months from the original date. The brothers were convicted in 1996 for the 1989 murders of their parents. A judge reduced their sentences, making them eligible for parole consideration. The California Board of Parole Hearings granted their petitions for earlier hearings.
