Assam Teacher won National Teachers Award for sending his students home to teach their mothers, who can't read or write, about UPI payments, smartphones and reading

A geography teacher in Assam's Jorhat district has won the National Teachers' Award for a programme that sends his students home each day to teach their unschooled mothers basic digital and literacy skills, including UPI payments, smartphone use and reading. The initiative, running for two years, has since expanded to six villages in the region.
