Psychology says people who can’t stop helping strangers may be driven by more than kindness
Psychology does not suggest that everyone who frequently helps others is motivated by pure altruism. Human behavior is rarely driven by a single motive. A person may genuinely care about a stranger while also enjoying the feeling of being useful, feeling connected to others and experiencing personal satisfaction from performing an act of kindness.
