Lok Sabha Speaker gives rebel TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay time till Sept 22 to reply to disqualification plea

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla granted Sudip Bandyopadhyay an extension until September 22. This allows the rebel TMC MP time to file his reply to a disqualification petition. The petition was filed by TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee under the Tenth Schedule. Speaker Birla has granted separate seating for the 20 breakaway MPs. The merger with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India has not yet been ratified.
