China says it conducted survey of waters east of Taiwan last month

China's Ministry of Natural Resources surveyed waters east of Taiwan last month. This survey aimed to create a unified map for territorial planning and resource management. Taiwan's coast guard had previously warned off a Chinese research vessel in these sensitive areas. China's coast guard also conducted routine law enforcement patrols in the same waters. Beijing views Taiwan as its territory, a claim rejected by Taipei.
