Manoj Jarange Patil, a prominent Maratha leader, entered the fifth day of his hunger strike on Wednesday. His supporters have initiated protests that are causing significant disruptions across Maharashtra, including on the Dhule-Solapur highway. Patil has ominously indicated that the protests will escalate and reach Mumbai on September 12, urging the state to acknowledge Marathas as belonging to the Kunbi caste.
