College hockey player has 'zero chance of recovery' after collapsing during offseason workout, lawyer says
Matthew Mayich, an Arizona State hockey player and St. Louis Blues draft pick, has "zero chance of recovery," his family’s lawyer said Monday after the athlete collapsed and fell into a coma following an offseason workout last month.
Robert Carey, the lawyer for Mayich’s family, is searching for answers as the player remained incapacitated from an Aug. 20 on-campus workout. The session began in the morning of Aug. 20 as classes for the first semester of school were just about to get underway.
