Kullu administration used sensitive Parvati Valley for waste storage after a plant closure. Contractor issues and transport disruptions led to temporary waste redirection. A new facility was introduced for the Manikaran special area. Waste collection and processing operations began in May 2026. The temporary waste site has since been cleared of all garbage.
