Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, known for her signature polka dots, has died. She passed away on August 14 at a Tokyo hospital at the age of 97. Kusama was a globally recognized contemporary artist with extensive international exhibitions. Her distinctive repetitive motifs included netting, swirls, and most famously, dots.
