Psychology says people who never get emotional even during heartbreaking scenes doesn’t mean they don’t care

Psychology does not support the idea that people who don't cry during heartbreaking scenes are automatically cold, unemotional or lacking empathy. Their response may reflect cognitive reappraisal, emotional suppression, psychological distance, individual differences in affective reactivity or simply the fact that fictional stories do not affect everyone equally.
