Indian banks are in their strongest position in a decade, with gross NPAs near historic lows and robust capital buffers, Motilal Oswal Financial Services said. Banking-sector asset quality has improved sharply, supported by stronger profitability, balance-sheet repair and resilient capital. With credit growth accelerating, healthier banks are better positioned to expand lending and benefit from India’s improving economic cycle.
