New headlight rules coming soon: What bike riders & vehicle owners need to know as govt plans to tighten high-intensity light norms

Anticipated changes to road safety policies will restrict two-wheeler headlamps to low-beam mode only. Buses and heavy vehicles will be required to use genuine reflective tapes to improve visibility. Furthermore, stricter regulations will be introduced for headlamp intensity and colour temperature across all vehicle categories. An alert system may also be introduced to signal drivers when high-beam use is unnecessary in urban areas.
