Music behind the bars: Songs of love and longing find an audience behind walls of Meerut prison

Meerut district jail's internal radio station, Radio Parvaaz, offers inmates daily song requests and entertainment. Inmates submit song requests through slips, with popular genres including love and betrayal themes. The station broadcasts requested songs, motivational talks, and life skills programs for two hours daily. This initiative aims to reduce mental stress and aid inmate reform and rehabilitation efforts.
