7 people, including 2 police officers, die following head-on collision in northeast England

Seven people, including two police officers, died early Saturday in a collision. A Volkswagen Passat was travelling the wrong way down the A66 highway. It collided with a police vehicle going in the right direction. All seven individuals were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Investigations into the accident are currently underway by police and an independent body.
