Texas used towering wind turbines as accidental frost fans based on a 2019 NASA observation; the result warmed ground temperatures 4–7°F on winter nights
Peach growers use large fans to pull warmer air down onto their trees during freezing nights. These fans mix warmer air from higher altitudes with colder ground-level air. Wind turbines, similar in design, also unintentionally move warmer air layers downwards. Satellites have observed warmer ground temperatures behind wind farms on cold nights. This effect is a redistribution of existing warmth, not an increase in overall heat.
