Mekedatu project will help Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, says Karnataka CM

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar discussed the Mekedatu reservoir project at a council meeting. He stated the project would benefit farmers in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Tamil Nadu, however, has expressed opposition to the proposed water project. The reservoir aims to conserve water for monthly release to downstream states. This initiative seeks to address critical water needs for both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
