Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar died at Safdarjung Hospital on Thursday. He was 84 years old and had been serving a life sentence. Kumar was convicted in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots following Indira Gandhi's assassination. He faced multiple legal battles over three decades for his involvement in the violence. Kumar had been imprisoned since December 2018 after his conviction.
