17 gallons of Atlantic fog can become drinking water in 24 hours as Morocco’s mountain nets capture moisture above the Anti-Atlas, then gravity carries it downhill to homes where families once walked hours for water
In southwestern Morocco, Atlantic fog is being transformed into drinking water through a network of specialized mesh nets on Mt. Boutmezguida. Operated by Dar Si Hmad, the system captures moisture from fog, directs droplets into reservoirs and uses gravity to move the water through pipes to homes in Aït Baâmrane.
