Suspended cop fired AK-47 after being surrounded by protesters: Bihar govt tells SC

The Bihar government has told the Supreme Court that a constable deployed during student protests in Siwan opened fire from an AK-47 only after he was surrounded by protesters, claiming that he fired four rounds into the air and that no protester was injured in the firing. The constable, Abhishek Kumar, has since been suspended, and departmental proceedings initiated against him.
