NFL cornerback, 28, retires days after signing with new team

NFL defensive back Sam Webb appeared to hang up his cleats after playing one preseason game with the New York Giants this season.

The Giants placed Webb on the Reserve/Retired List on Sunday, one day after New York lost to the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants signed Webb on Thursday, and he only had one practice with the team going into the preseason affair.

Webb, 28, was a standout at Missouri Western State before he turned pro.
