Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor takes oath as Bankipur MLA after ending BJP’s 30-year hold on Patna seat

Prashant Kishor took oath as Bankipur MLA at the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Monday. He made a historic electoral debut on August 3, winning the Bankipur bypoll. Kishor defeated the BJP's Neeraj Kumar by a significant margin of 19,324 votes. The bypoll was necessitated after Nitin Nabin vacated the seat for the Rajya Sabha. Kishor's victory dealt a blow to the BJP, which held the seat since 1995.
