In the early days of automobiles, there were virtually no regulations governing their use, prompting the eventual requirement for driver's licenses. Massachusetts and Missouri took the lead in 1903, mandating licenses without any testing. Over time, these licenses transformed into secure IDs featuring photographs and intricate security elements. Today, digital licenses are available, with some states even offering online testing.
