8-foot Burmese python found hiding under New Jersey family’s shed after swallowing a large opossum: Snake’s swollen belly revealed shocking backyard discovery
An approximately 8-foot Burmese python stunned a New Jersey family after it was discovered hiding beneath their backyard shed in Freehold Township. The snake was spotted by Leslie Daley while she was watering flowers before disappearing under the structure, forcing Monmouth County SPCA animal-control officers to remove part of the shed floor to rescue it. An X-ray later revealed the surprising reason behind the python’s swollen belly and it had recently swallowed a large opossum.
